“Tablescape” is a relatively new term in home decor made popular by Food Network star Sandra Lee. It is used to describe a complete table setting, from the center pieces to the plates, napkins, dishes, flatware, etc. Creating your tablescape can and should be fun – you’ll want to start by deciding on a theme. This theme can be based on a set of colors, items or event.
Holiday tablescapes range from fun and whimsical to elegant and chic. The festive season allows you to play with ideas that you may not normally consider. Bring the outside in by incorporating elements of nature such as pine cones, twigs and branches. Another idea is to take a few vases and fill them with fake snow, add candles in the vases and surround it with with the pine cones and branches.For a more elegant tablescape – use flowers and candles as your focal points. Beautiful white flowers like gardenias or even white roses are very sophisticated yet perfect for the holiday season.
